The sale of the former Bluewater Centre for Young Offenders property to Huron County could be delayed for at least another month.
Huron County Warden Jim Ginn said the province now has to conduct an internal review.
"They have to do an internal review because they are now all of a sudden realizing that there's not going to be many dollars change hands. So their internal policies require a full department review, so we're told middle of July at the earliest and we'll see what happens in the middle of July," said Ginn.
Ginn said the difference from the original cost of the property is because the buildings have now been declared unusable and have become a liability.
"We were able to take the cost of the demolition off the price of the buildings because some of the hazardous material it's getting pretty expensive, but that'll come off, you know, we've got the price of the building and whatever the difference is between the two, we'll have to make up over the cost of the demolition," added Ginn.
