New historical sexual assault charges against Huron East resident

A Huron East resident is facing an additional historical offence after he was charged with Indecent Assault on a Female late last week by the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police Crime Unit.

In May of 2020, Huron County OPP arrested a 61-year-old man in connection to an historical sexual assault and other sex-related offences. The alleged offences are related to events that took place in Seaforth during the 1990's when the accused was acting as a golf instructor and supervisor at a golf course.

Last week investigators met with an additional victim and commenced an investigation into an allegation that took place in the late 1970's in Seaforth. As a result of the investigation, investigators have charged the accused with Indecent Assault on a Female.

Cameron Doig has been charged. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 28 in Goderich.

The charges have yet to be proven in court.
