Saugeen Shores Launches new traffic campaign Friday

Saugeen Shores Police Service launches Operation “Stay In Your Lane”  Friday, August 28th.  Officers will target “aggressive drivers” on local streets.

A release from Police says they expect a noticeable increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic on area highways as the Labour Day long weekend quickly approaches, heralding the unofficial last week of summer.

Operation “Stay In Your Lane” lasts until September 7th.

“We are committed to road safety through accountability, enforcement, and public education. This traffic campaign will focus on the drivers that follow too close, make unsafe lane changes and drive much faster than the flow of traffic,” remarked Deputy Chief Kevin Zettel.

“The safe flow of traffic is the responsibility of every driver”, the Deputy explained, adding, "Road safety is a core function of our police service. Help us make the roads safe by respecting traffic laws and others who share the road."
