BRA reminds residents disposable PPE is not recyclable

The President of the Bluewater Recycling Association wants everyone to be more aware of how they dispose of masks and gloves. Francis Veilleux says recycling bins are not the correct way to dispose of this material, and says putting masks and gloves in blue bins "endangers our employees, and our entire operation".

Veilleux says that since masks were made mandatory in most closed establishments by the Ontario government, they have seen an uptick in the number of protection material appearing at recycling facilities.

He noted that the correct way to dispose of gloves and masks is to put them in a sealed bag and throw it in the garbage.
