Perth-Wellington MP helping pay tribute to WW2 Vets

Perth-Wellington MP John Nater is using his platform to help honour Second World War veterans.

In partnership with Veteran Affairs Canada, Nater detailed in a September 29 release the Second World War Tribute program. The program was introduced in 2014 to honour the bravery and sacrifice displayed more than 75 years ago. Any local Second World War veterans can apply for the tribute. The commemorative lapel pin and certificate of recognition were created to honour the extraordinary role Canadians played in the Allied victory 75 years ago and runs to the end of 2020.

If you are a Second World World War veteran or know someone who is, you can apply for the tribute by contacting MP Nater's officer or Veteran Affairs online, which done by clicking here: https://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/remembrance/wars-and-conflicts/second-world-war/tribute.

“Eight decades ago, brave Canadians answered the call to service and travelled overseas to fight against tyranny and hatred," Nater said. "Today, 75 years since the Second World War ended, it is important to honour our brave Veterans and pay tribute to those who are no longer with us.”
