ABCA encourages residents to get outdoors

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority has planned several events to get people out and enjoying nature as the colder weather arrives.

Conservation Educator Denis Iszczuk said they have weekend family outdoor experiences that can be booked through Eventbrite.

“We have autumn hikes at the Bannockburn Conservation Area, so certain dates offer certain programs, pond studies at Morrison Dam Conservation Area, fossil hunts at Rock Glen Conservation Area.”

Iszczuk said the final hike of the season will start in mid-November and then into December and it's called Christmas in the Forest.

“So just looking at environmentally friendly ways to decorate trees and to decorate for the wildlife and there's also going to be a campfire associated with Christmas in the forest.”

More information about all of the hikes can be found on the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority website and all of the events can be booked through Eventbrite.
