A snow packed Wednesday drive

Roads across Midwestern Ontario are partly snow covered and icy for the Wednesday morning drive.

An earlier snow squall waning for southern areas of Bruce County, including Kincardine and Saugeen Shores, has ended. Bruce County Roads reporting some light snow in those areas. And roads are snow covered with slippery and slushy sections. And visibility is being reported as good.

Across Grey, Huron, Perth and Wellington, crews are also out this morning. Visibility is being reported as good and roads will have some snow and ice on them.

Huron County Ontario Provincial Police members are also is asking drivers to be part of the solution to reduce the number of preventable collisions this winter.

Officers had already responded to a half-dozen motor vehicle crashes Tuesday morning and say the cause usually comes down to drivers failing to adjust their driving habits.

A media release reminds motorists to go slow in the snow, and look far ahead to recognize hazards in advance and have plenty of time to respond. Modern vehicles with all-wheel drive, electronic traction control and snow tires will help with control but are not a substitute for slowing down.
