Kincardine Pride has received permission from the Municipality to fly the Transgender flag at the Davidson Centre flagpole starting Friday.
There will be a small flag raising event at noon with remarks from several local speakers. It won't be a public event due to COVID-19, and safety measures will be in effect.
Kincardine Pride President Fort Papalia says he has heard of abuse of transgender people in Kincardine including verbal, humiliations, or work related harassment. He said it is time to raise awareness and stand together against this particular form of hate and violence.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance is tomorrow, November 20th. The flag will fly until November 23rd.
