Wellington North is working to keep its tax increase under two per cent.
A number of projects were cut from the budget Monday to hold the line at 1.2%. One of the tough decisions was the $1.1-million expenditure for repairs to the ice system at the Arthur arena.
In the end, Wellington North council decided to leave the arena project in the budget but to fund it from reserves so as not to impact the tax levy.
The public can have their say on the budget at the December 14 meeting when council plans to finalize the 2021 budget.
