North Huron prepping for more residential development

At its last meeting North Huron council finalized plans for residential development in Hutton Heights.

But Reeve Bernie Bailey says council also approved final preparation for the former trailer park in Wingham.

“The other thing we passed was the final preparation for the former trailer park in Wingham and it will be in housing development with 35 houses and it will probably the first one on deck for building and that's down by the Legion in Wingham.”

He says that will probably be underway before the Hutton Heights development.

Bailey also says there is a serious housing shortage in North Huron and this will now provide a long term housing supply in the municipality.

“The unique thing about this is we now have a housing supply for a long future in North Huron. North Huron council can set its sights on building its own industrial park for jobs for the very people that are building the houses.”
