Huron County wants to boost morale

2020 seemed like a lot more than just one year for most of us.

Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn recently presented county council with an idea that might relieve some of the boredom, claustrophobia or maybe even depression that some people are feeling.

“So my proposal was to create something on the weekend for people to go and enjoy, a reason to get out of the house, but yet do it in a way that would be safe,” said Ginn. “If each of our nine lower tier municipalities could take one weekend this winter and just put on some kind of event and I really don't know what people may come up with, it could be ice sculptures, it could be fireworks, or something along those lines.”

Ginn points out it would have to be something people could either drive by or watch from their cars, but it would at least get them out.

Council strongly supported the idea and letters are going out to the lower tiers to see what they can come up with.
