A 70-year-old Goderich resident is facing charges of attempted murder in connection to an investigation into a stabbing.
Huron County OPP officers and paramedics responded to report of a stabbing at a home on Widder Street at about 7p.m. last night.
Police say a victim was injured with an edged weapon, but was able to escape the family home and call 9-1-1 from a safe place. The victim was later treated and released from hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It was determined this was a domestic violence event and there is no threat to public safety.
Police have a 70 year old person in custody who faces charges of Attempt Murder and Domestic Mischief. The accused remains in custody with a future court date.
