A new outbreak has been declared at Caressant Care Long Term Care in Fergus.
According to Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health, there is one case in staff and no cases in residents.
The ongoing outbreak at Caressant Care Long Term Care Home in Arthur has now contributed to 14 fatalities, and there have been four fatalities from COVID at Palmerston hospital. There are a number of outbreaks at senior care homes in Guelph, and one in Shelburne.
Meantime, the facility-wide outbreak at Wellington Terrace has officially been declared over. The status had been in effect since December 12.
Residents at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home have received their second and final dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. A media release from Wellington County says that means all residents wishing to receive the vaccine have now been vaccinated.
Warden Kelly Linton calls it a significant milestone that 95% of Wellington Terrace residents have now been vaccinated. Wellington Terrace employees are tested every seven days as per Ministry of Health directives.
Huron Perth Public Health reported active outbreaks continue at Caressant Care long term care and retirement Homes in Listowel, and at Seaforth Manor nursing and retirement homes.
There are also outbreaks at Fordwich Village, Hillside Manor in Perth East, and St. Marys Memorial Hospital.
