Huron Perth Public Health reported a net zero for new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, with one new case, but two cases were referred to other health units. There were no new fatalities. There is one hospitalization.
The COVID-19 outbreak at the Caressant Care nursing home in Listowel has been declared over. 70 people were sickened in the outbreak . 16 residents died, 14 on the long-term care side and two on the retirement side. The outbreak on the retirement side is ongoing, and a total of 42 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
Active outbreaks continue at Seaforth Manor nursing and retirement homes in Seaforth. Three residents at the nursing home have passed away and 62 people contracted the virus. Nine residents and staff in the retirement home also tested positive for COVID-19. There are also minor outbreaks at Fordwich Village, Hillside Manor in Perth East, and seven COVID-19 cases at St Marys Hospital.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health officials reported one new case Tuesday, but it was not in Wellington County. However, the virus has claimed one more life, for a total of 26 fatalities and one person is in hospital.
The ongoing outbreak at Caressant Care Long Term Care in Arthur has now contributed to 15 fatalities, with 59 staff members and 57 residents testing positive through the outbreak. There have been 10 cases of COVID-19 and four fatalities from COVID at Palmerston Hospital. One staff member tested positive at Caressant Care Long Term Care in Fergus.
No new cases were reported by the Grey Bruce Health Unit Tuesday. There are 20 active cases, and nine probable cases. One person is in hospital.
