More special events to support Perth Huron United Way

Perth Huron United Way Executive Director, Ryan Erb, says this year's campaign is a little ahead of last year's at this time.

But Erb says the pandemic has forced them to make a few adjustments

"The special events like the Coldest Night of the Year walk that we're operating in Goderich and Exeter in the next few weeks have to be done differently. It's not being done in a big group, people are able to just still participate and be part of teams, but then go walk on their own on their own time, according to COVID-19 regulations," explained Erb.

"Simply sign up at coldestnightoftheyear.org as an individual, or hopefully with a team of people, so you go on the webs site and register and then ask some of your friends to give you a sponsorship for walking two or five kilometres and during that week you can go out and walk whenever it's safe for you to do so."

The walk begins on February 20th and continues until the end of the month.

Anyone can register by going to CNOY.org and register as an individual or as part of a team and ask their friends to sponsor them for walking 2 km or 5 km.

Then they go out and walk on their own whenever they can.
