ATV operator charged with assault a Peace Officer

A media release from Wellington County OPP reported a police officer was dragged about 100 metres while trying to make an arrest in Mount Forest.

Police say an officer spotted an ATV being operated in an aggressive manner without any lights on in the area of Egremont Street in Mount Forest. That was at about 10:30 pm February 13th. The officer attempted to pull over the ATV, however, police say the operator of the vehicle refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed.  Police allege an ATV  was later observed going through stop signs and driving erratically on several streets within the town.
