Wellington County OPP have laid charges against a 17-year-old minor from North Perth following multiple break-ins to downtown Mount Forest businesses.
On March 27th at 11:30 p.m., police responded to an alarm that was set off at a business on Main Street in Mount Forest. Officers discovered an individual had gained entry to the business, but no property appeared to be missing following the alarm being set off. On March 28th at 2:45 p.m., police received a second report of another break-in at another Main Street Mount Forest business. Allegedly, the suspect involved gained entry and forced open some drawers inside. The business owner believed the break-in happened the previous night.
As a result, police have charged a 17-year-old North Perth resident with Break and Enter-Commit an Indictable Offence and Break and Enter with Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence. The accused has a future court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice-Youth Court in Guelph to answer to the charges, which are yet to be proven.
