The Grey-Bruce OPP continue to investigate a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 32-year-old Southgate native.
On May 11th at 5:51 p.m., officers responded along with Grey County Paramedic Services and the Dundalk Fire Department to a motor-vehicle collision on Southgate Road 22 near Southgate Side Road 13 in the Township of Southgate. 32-year-old Southgate native Mitchell Benoit was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing with members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team assisting Grey-Bruce OPP.
The area surrounding Southgate Road 22 and Southgate Side Road 13 has since been reopened. Anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Grey-Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.
