The Upper Grand District School Board is accepting registrations for an online elementary school for the next school year.
In a release on May 20th, UGDSB says registration for the online learning site will run from May 20th until June 3rd. UGDSB states in the release that they are looking forward to welcoming students back to schools in the 2021-22 school year, but they will continue offering the remote learning option for any families or students that prefer that option. The release also states that because UGDSB is expecting to welcome a majority of students back to in-person learning, their ability to "offer a similar breadth of remote programs as was offered during the 2020-2021 school may be limited."
Additionally,UGDSB says that the decision families make about remote learning vs in-person learning for 2021-22 will be for the entire school year, because moving between remote and in-person learning can disrupt students and classrooms. The online classes will be staffed by permanent online staff dedicated to teaching in that medium for the whole school year.
