Exeter resident charged with assaulting officer

An Exeter resident is facing charges, including assault of an officer, stemming from an arrest earlier this month in Goderich.

On May 19th, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police say they received information that a woman was failing to abide by her court-imposed curfew condition.

Officers responded to Suncoast Drive and South Street in Goderich and located the suspect, but according to a release "she resisted and assaulted one of the officers".

A subsequent search of the accused found her to be in possession of suspected fentanyl.

A 26-year-old from Exeter faces several charges, including Assault of a Peace Officer & Resisting a Peace Officer.

The accused has a court date scheduled for June 28th in Goderich.
