The bodies of two people have been recovered after rescue crews responded to a vessel in distress in the Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.
The Ontario Provincial Police said on Saturday at around 6:30 a.m., a search and rescue operation was conducted after the vessel was reported to be in distress in Lake Huron near Donald Road.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre Trenton, OPP Aviation Services, OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team, Grey Bruce OPP Marine Unit, OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Team, Northern Bruce Peninsula Fire, and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services all assisted the Grey Bruce OPP with the search.
The OPP reported Saturday evening that the bodies of two people were located at the scene. Police have identified the victims as 21-year-old Shonethan Spencer of Scarborough and 24-year-old Ali Haider Shakir Faleeh of Richmond Hill.
