Worker killed at business in Tiverton

A worker was killed while disassembling a large piece of equipment at Kinectrics' KI North facility in Tiverton.

The company says the incident happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday as two contractor's workers were taking apart the equipment.

Kinectrics and the vendor are stopping work "in recognition of the sad event."

“We are devastated by the death of this individual” said President and CEO David Harris. “Our thoughts are with his family. We place the highest value on protecting the safety of our employees and contractors and we are heartbroken for the worker’s family, friends, and colleagues.”

The company says more information will be released when appropriate.
