New COVID-19 cases added Tuesday in Midwestern Ontario

COVID-19 cases grew slightly in Midwestern Ontario Tuesday. 

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added two new cases of COVID-19, one in Kincardine, and one in Hanover. There are 13 active cases. Two residents are hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added two new cases, and reported three people hospitalized with the virus. There are no new cases in Wellington, but there are 19 active cases.

Huron Perth Public Health added three new cases, one in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, and two in Perth East. There are 20 active cases and one resident is hospitalized with the virus.

Ontario is reporting its lowest number of new daily COVID-19 cases since early August. There are 269 new infections recorded today, and five more deaths. Health Minister Christine Elliott says 176 of those cases are in people who aren't fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status. Elliot says there are 138 people in intensive care units due to COVID-19, including nine patients who were transferred from Saskatchewan.
