Gateway looks back at 12 years

It's been twelve years since the founding team, including current President, Gwen Devereaux, went down to rural Kentucky to find out how to launch their Gateway Centre for Excellence in Rural Health.

It's located in Goderich.

Tuesday's webinar hosted by Gateway will look back on how they got started and how to got to where they are now.

“We wanted to have a voice for our rural people because yes, we have higher rates of many issues, such as heart disease, diabetes and so we want to help our local rural population be better resourced,” said Devereaux.

And looking back, she says there many successes including the work done by former students

“Seeing our students who have been with us, who have now graduated and come back into our region, probably is my biggest highlight. As we know, several physicians and physiotherapists and so on, that have been involved with us and nurses for sure, are now out here,” added Devereaux.

The webinar starts at noon and the link to join can be found on the Gateway website.
