GBHS to institute vaccine policy for all hospital visitors

Grey-Bruce Health Services will soon implement a vaccination policy for all visitors to their hospitals.

In a recent release, GBHS states that as of November 15th, all visitors will be required to be fully vaccinated with 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to enter GBHS facilities and show proof of their vaccination. The policy, which falls in line with other hospital policies around the province, does not apply to patients. Anyone who needs medical care, or has an appointment, should not delay, regardless of vaccination status. If a visitor with a patient doesn't have proof of vaccination or an approved medical exemption, exceptions will be allowed if the patient is a child, at the end of life, is in labour or has accessibility needs.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Ontario Ministry of Health vaccination receipt in digital or a paper form, or the Ontario Enhanced Vaccine Certificate. One piece of government issued photo identification must also be provided.
