The Municipality of Perth South says a local hall will be getting significant funding for upgrades.
In a release, Perth South says after a successful grant application through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program's Community Culture and Recreation Stream, the Downie Optimist Community Hall in St. Pauls will see approximately $275,000 in renovations and upgrades. The hall, used for numerous social activities, was built over 30 years ago, and upgrades will include a complete renovation of the hall, kitchen, bar, and washrooms. In addition, the parking lot will be expanded and repaved.
It is likely that the upgrades to the Downie Optimist Community Hall will be done by spring of next year.

For many years this hall has been an important gathering place for the community. It will be wonderful to see the facilities upgraded and the hall continue to serve the community for years to come.”
