New COVID-19 cases reported across the region

The Grey Bruce Health unit added four new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, two in Owen Sound, one in Huron-Kinloss, and one in Kincardine. There are 22 active cases. One resident is currently hospitalized with the virus.

Huron Perth Public Health added three new cases located in Stratford, Howick, and Bluewater.  There are 30 active cases. Three residents are currently hospitalized with the virus. 

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added six new cases Wednesday, including three in Wellington County. There are 27 active cases in Wellington. Three residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.

Ontario is reporting 591 new COVID-19 cases and seven more deaths from the virus today. Health Minister Christine Elliott says 307 of the new cases are in people who are not fully vaccinated and 47 people have unknown vaccination status.

There were 137 people in intensive care with COVID-related critical illness, including 84 patients on ventilators. The province says 86 per cent of residents aged 12 and older have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and 89 per cent have at least one dose.
