The Grey Bruce Health unit added two new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, one in Kincardine, and one in Saugeen Shores. There are 45 active cases. Two residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.
Huron Perth Public Health added seven new cases, three in North Perth, three in Perth East, and one in Huron East. There are 60 active cases. Five residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.
Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added six new cases Friday, including one in Wellington County. There are 27 active cases in Wellington. Three residents are currently hospitalized with the virus.
Ontario has reached a grim benchmark in the COVID-19 pandemic, with 10-thousand deaths recorded due to the virus. Three of those were reported today, along with 687 new infections.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 329 of the new cases are in people not fully vaccinated against the virus. She says 50 cases are in people whose vaccination status is unknown.
