COVID-19 cases grow locally

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is reporting 28 new infections Tuesday. There are at least 188 active cases. 13 residents are currently hospitalized with the virus. To date, 21 deaths have been reported due to COVID-19.    

The outbreak at McVean Lodge in Hanover has been declared over. Now, eight facilities are experiencing outbreaks. These include Grey Bruce Health Services – Wiarton Site, Rockwood Terrace Long Term Care – Durham, Errinrung Nursing Home –Thornbury, Errinrung Retirement Home - Thornbury, Parkview Manor – Chesley, Mapleview Long-Term Care Home – Owen Sound,  Summit Place – Owen Sound, Season’s Owen Sound. 

Huron Perth Public Health is reporting 32 new cases. Seven residents are hospitalized due to the virus. To date, 80 residents have died because of the virus. There are eight active outbreaks in Huron Perth. 

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported 49 new COVID-19 cases, 17 of which are in Wellington County, where there are 244 active cases. 48 residents are currently hospitalized with the virus. To date, 42 Wellington County residents have died due to the virus. 

13 facilities are experiencing outbreaks, including Caressant Care - Fergus, Caressent Care - Harriston, and Birmingham Retirement Community - Mount Forest. . 

Ontario is reporting four-thousand and eight people hospitalized with COVID-19. That's up 147 from yesterday.

Another 64 people have died, with some of those deaths occurring earlier this month. And there are more patients requiring intensive care, with that number climbing from 615 on Monday to 626.
