Kincardine moves to Stage 3 Water Supply Prohibitions

The Municipality of Kincardine has moved into Stage 3 Water Supply Prohibitions to help ensure water supplies last during repairs to the Kincardine Water Treatment Plant reservoir.

Stage 3 Water Supply Prohibitions are put in place when “the service capability of any water production well or any water storage tower has declined to the point where the continued supply of sufficient water for the basic needs of the public is in jeopardy”. Not following the rules could result in a fine of up to $5,000.

Users of the Kincardine Drinking Water System are now prohibited from:

Watering lawns Watering gardens, trees, shrubs or other outdoor plants Washing the exterior of a building or attachments thereto, driveway or a walkway Washing vehicles Operating decorative fountains (unless all water used is continuously recycled) Cleaning with water or filling decorative fountains or residential swimming pools, hot tubs, or garden ponds Using waste water outdoors
