Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker announced new funding for local healthcare yesterday.
In a release, Walker says 3 local hospitals will be receiving funding for improved hospital care and new beds. Starting this year and into 2023, Grey Bruce Health Services will receive an additional 3.7 million dollars, Hanover & District Hospital will receive an additional $300,000, and South Bruce Grey Health Centre will receive an additional $700,000. The release states the funding is "part of the Ontario government’s $827 million additional investment to hospitals across the province, representing a four per cent increase from last year."
Walker adds that this investment will "ensure all publicly funded hospitals receive a minimum two per cent increase to their operating budgets to help them better meet patient needs, while building a stronger, more resilient health care system."
