Perth County OPP officers says the theft of traffic signs is a criminal offense which would lead to serious consequences.
This after road signs were stolen throughout the Municipality of West Perth and the Township of Perth East. Stolen signs include 911 emergency numbers, street signs, "Stop Ahead" signs, and bridge markers.
The road signs give important information to motorists including dangerous conditions, and laws in effect. Anyone responsible for the thefts could face charges of Mischief to any property or the greater offence of Criminal Negligence.
