COVID-19 outbreak at Stratford General Hospital deemed "under control"

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) has declared the COVID-19 outbreak at the Stratford General Hospital is “under control”.

The outbreak was declared on the Medicine Unit on May 2nd after three cases of the virus were identified.

HPHA says immediate precautions were implemented, including prevalence testing in team members and patients. It is anticipated that the outbreak, and all five hospital acquired cases, will be resolved and declared over this week.

Effective today, the Medicine Unit has been reopened to admissions and transfers. Family and Caregiver Presence on the Unit has also been restored. Full guidelines can be found on their website.
