Grants available for businesses to increase online presence

A member of Huron County's Digital Squad says the Federal Canada Digital Adoption Program is helping business take advantage of the online promotion.

Alecia Anderson says the program, also known as CDAP, offers up to 24-hundred dollars to help with the costs related to adopting e-commerce and is supported by a network of e-commerce advisors.

"Participant requirements include that you are a for-profit business, that you are registered or incorporated, that you have at least one employee on payroll, that isn't an owner or a contractor."

Anderson says applicants must also consent to participating in some follow-ups.

"You must consent to participating in follow-up surveys, sharing information with the government of Canada and having the name of your business public as a recipient of the funding. It helps you share more of your services with a broader audience."

Anderson says anyone looking for more information can go to the Digital Main Street Ontario web site and under the available programs in Ontario they will find the application for the Canada Digital Adoption Program grant.
