A Kincardine resident turned one dollar into 100 thousand dollars after saying yes to Encore on his lotto max ticket.
Kirk Rutledge, a 65-year-old father of three and grandfather of one, said his wife Stephanie scanned the ticket on the OLG App early one morning.
“It was pretty early in the morning, and it felt surreal. Steph was scanning the ticket and looked at it a couple of times, then turned the phone to me and said ‘what does that say?’, and I said ‘It looks like it says $100,000!”. And then I took another sip of my coffee.”
Kirk said he doesn’t know what he is going to do with his windfall yet. “I’m going to pay some bills for now,” he said.
He added he and his wife have a cruise booked from Australia to San Francisco, and will likely use some winnings to make the trip even more memorable.
The winning ticket was purchased at Canco on Bluewater Highway in Grand Bend.
