Brussels ready to welcome people home

The Brussels 150th Homecoming Event gets underway Thursday evening.

Co-Chair Dan Fritz says the event is being spread out over five days.

“It is all in this weekend. We spread the event out over five days. So we do encompass the Thursday night and then Friday, Saturday, Sunday and then we do have some events going on on the holiday Monday as well, so August 1st, so, kind of a five-day spread,” said Fritz. “The parade's at noon on Saturday. We're doing a Masked Singer contest Sunday night, like the TV show. A lot of people in town are pretty excited for that. It's all local singers, so people have got their guesses in or trying to figure out who they are, so a lot of people are keen for that one.”

The opening ceremonies are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at the ball diamond.

A complete schedule of events can be found on the Brussels Homecoming website.
