Donation supports Harry Thede Field in Saugeen Shores

A fundraising campaign for the a large sports park in Saugeen Shores has announced another major donation.

The campaign has received a $75,000 donation in the name of former Saugeen Township Reeve Harry Thede.

As a result, the park's future youth fastball diamond will be known as "Harry Thede Field."

In a release, Saugeen Shores Mayor Luke Charbonneau says "We are deeply grateful for this generous contribution. Harry Thede was a well-respected Reeve, as well as Warden of Bruce County. It is fitting that his name is memorialized at this world-class facility."

Phase One of the park is set to open next year in May.
