One local emergency department resumes regular hours, while another preps for another closure

The Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance says the Seaforth Community Hospital has resumed regular hours in its emergency department today.

However, the release also confirms that a reduction in hours is coming to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Emergency Department later this week. Later today (Monday), the emergency department will close at 5 p.m. It will re-open on Tuesday, August 23rd at 7 a.m. and close again at 5 p.m. that night. These hours of 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. will continue until 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 27th, when regular hours will resume in the St. Marys emergency department.

The HPHA states in their release that this latest loss of hours in a local emergency department is due to ongoing staffing issues.

The closest 24-hour Emergency Departments to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital are:

Stratford – HPHA – Stratford General Hospital Exeter – South Huron Hospital Ingersoll – Alexandra Hospital London – LHSC– University Hospital or Victoria Hospital
