Huron-Bruce hospitals will receive additional funding

Huron-Bruce M-P-P Lisa Thompson has announced that all of the hospitals within the riding will get financial support for infrastructure projects.

Thompson was at the Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich Monday to make the announcement.

“The hospital network within Huron-Bruce is receiving more than $7.7 million for infrastructure renewal. It enables the hospitals to plan in terms of infrastructure priorities and every hospital in this riding is receiving a sum of money,” said Thompson.

She adds that the amount of money will be based on needs:

-Alexandra Marine and General Hospital: $133,552

-Clinton Public Hospital: $516,055

-Grey Bruce Health Services: $1,808,269

-Hanover and District Hospital: $592,926

-Seaforth Community Hospital: $728,183

-South Bruce Grey Health Centre: $692,042

-South Huron Hospital: $2,602,808

-Wingham and District Hospital: $674,78

“We've also announced that the Province of Ontario is investing $20 million on an annual basis for operating funds for MRI machines. It translates into 27 new MRI machines across rural Ontario,” said Thompson.

Thompson says that means three hospitals in Huron-Bruce will be getting operational funds for MRI machines. The funding does not cover the purchasing of the MRI machines, only their operation.
