Two charged after recent assault

Two men involved in a recent disturbance that sent one of them to the hospital have both been charged by police.

Grey-Bruce OPP were called on the evening of March 26 for a report of a disturbance on Saugeen First Nation involving a weapon. Police arrived on the scene, and one of the men involved in the altercation was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The following day on March 27, both of the involved men were placed under arrest. A 60-year-old from Saugeen First Nation is facing charges including assault with a weapon, and a 28-year-old from Saugeen First Nation is facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm.

The 60-year-old was held pending a bail hearing while the 28-year-old was released and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date.
