School board partners with St. Vincent de Paul for tutor support

The Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board (HPCDSB) has partnered with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in both Stratford and Goderich through the Tutoring Supports Program.

Tutor support program coordinator Heather Marcy says kits have been created to be distributed by St. Vincent de Paul to children in need.

"The materials include typical school supplies, pencils, pens, crayons, pencil crayons, things like that," said Mercy. "Books, some nice fun math games that you can play with the family. That sort of thing."

Two kits are available: one is meant for students aged four to seven, and the other for ages eight to 11.

Marcy says they're also offering tutors in select schools.

“So we have virtual tutoring for Grades 4 to 8 students in afternoons and evenings after school," she said. ".And we're going to have summer camps that students will be at and we support the choices program in secondary.”

Anyone looking for more information on the program can contact the HPCDSB.
