Shoreline Artists, a group of 53 artists, is inviting everyone to its Studio Tour in Southampton, Port Elgin, and Sauble Beach. It's an opportunity for the community to purchase new art for their homes, get to know the person who made the piece, and have fun doing so.
"[Attendees] can expect a warm welcome from all the artists," said Allison Arnold, one of the artists in the group. "We are just excited to see people come out and enjoy our artwork."
Guests can visit the artists' homes and visit with them and the other artists sharing the space for the day. If you're interested in visiting all three areas, there's a scavenger hunt you can participate in.
"Each artist has a card and can represent that they've seen an artist in each of those three zones," said Arnold. "Then they become eligible for a $100 gift certificate."
The gift certificate can be used towards any artist's work. With such a large group, there's artforms of all kind, like watercolour and acrylic paintings, sculptures, carvings, and more.
If you aren't looking to spend a significant amount of money on an art piece, Arnold said there's nothing to worry about.
"All of our artists try to meet all budgets," she said. "We have smaller pieces of art, larger pieces. For myself, I price according to size and complexity."
The two-day studio tours take place on July 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information with specific addresses can be found here.
