Two people are facing obstruction and drug trafficking charges, after getting stopped by Hanover Police on Friday afternoon.
Around 4:20 pm, officers say they observed a man slumped in the drivers seat of a vehicle along Ninth street. Police allege the man was nodding off with his foot on the brake and the vehicle in drive.
The 45-year-old Markdale man was suspected of driving while impaired by drugs and placed under arrest.
Police say a 32-year-old woman from Meaford who was a passenger obstructed officers during the investigation. She was also placed under arrest.
During a search, officers recovered an ounce of fentanyl and methamphetamine, ammunition, knives, drug paraphernalia and money.
The man faces charges for operation while impaired, possession of stolen property and breach of probation, while both of them were charged with two counts of possession for the purpose trafficking and one count of obstructing a peace officer.
