Huron County OPP have charged a 35-year-old North Huron native following a disturbance at the Wingham and District Hospital.
On July 5 at 5:50 p.m., officers responded to the hospital after receiving a call reporting that an unwanted and disruptive individual was asked to leave by staff but refused.
The individual then allegedly began attempting to break into the locked hospital doors by using a chair to break the glass. The hospital staff activated a full lock-down while the suspect proceeded to damage both sets of entry doors and numerous items inside the hospital.
Just after 6 p.m., officers arrived on-scene and located the individual in the ER. The individual was non-compliant with police, and a Conducted Energy Weapon was utilized to safely gain control of the suspect, who was then arrested.
As a result, the 35-year-old accused now faces charges including:
-Mischief Over $5,000,
-Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm,
-Forcible Entry,
-Common Nuisance - Endanger Life,
-Failure to Comply with Release Order.
The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later remanded into custody.
