The Chesley emergency department will be open for just one day in the coming week, as three local hospitals announced temporary closures due to staffing shortages.
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre closed the Chesley ER tonight at 5 p.m. until Friday morning at 7 a.m. The department will be open for the day, until 5 p.m., when it closes again until next Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 7 a.m.
They also announced four overnight closures for the Durham Hospital emergency department, starting on Friday evening. From Aug. 11 to 14, the ER will close each night at 5 p.m. and reopen the following day at 7.
The Walkerton emergency department will also have one overnight closure on Friday at 5 p.m., reopening Saturday at 7 a.m.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 and ambulances will take them to the nearest available emergency department.
