Hindu culture to be celebrated in Kincardine

A Hindu culture open house is being held in Kincardine and everyone is welcome.

The event is being hosted on behalf of the Swajan Samanvay Sanatan Centre at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The open house is free and runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

"The Hindu community in Grey Bruce is growing and positively contributing to the region in several areas," said a release from the Municipality of Kincardine. "The open house is an opportunity to 'Embrace Diversity Through Dialogue' and explore Hindu culture within the Canadian multicultural mosaic."

Participants can take part in Yoga, interactive exhibits, meditation, and enjoy traditional Hindu food, music, and dancing. All while celebrating and learning more about Hindu culture and traditions.

Chandra Tripathi, the lead organizer for the Hindu Culture open house, hopes that the event will "foster understanding, promote cultural exchange, and build bridges of friendship" in the community.

"What better way to meet your neighbours than to share in an exciting afternoon of great music and delicious food,” he added.
