The South Bruce Grey Health Centre announced a slew of temporary closures for three of its hospitals from now until the end of August.
The Chesley Hospital's emergency department reopened Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. following a week in which it was only open one day. But the ER will close again Tuesday at 5 p.m. and will reopen Thursday (Aug. 17) at 7a.m.
The Walkerton emergency department will close overnight on Friday (Aug. 18), beginning at 5 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m. Saturday.
The Durham hospital's ER will also have two overnight closures on Saturday (Aug. 19) and Sunday (Aug. 20), each starting at 5 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m. the following morning.
Ambulance by-pass will be undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ER.
All three hospitals will also have temporary closures next week.
Chesley: Thursday, Aug. 24 at 5 p.m. to Monday, Aug. 28 at 7 a.m. (86-hour closure)
Durham: Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. to Thursday, Aug. 24 at 7 a.m. hours (14-hour overnight closure)
Friday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. to Saturday, Aug. 26 at 7 a.m. (14-hour overnight closure)
Walkerton: Saturday, Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. to Sunday, Aug. 27 at 7 a.m. (14-hour overnight closure)
Sunday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. to Monday Aug. 28 at 7 a.m. (14-hour overnight closure)
Monday, Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. to Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 7 a.m. (14-hour overnight closure)
