Huron County OPP have charged a Mississauga woman in connection to a collision into a house on August 2, 2023.
Officers responded to an address on Laurier Line in Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh Township in the early morning hours after receiving reports.
"The complainant reported to police that a vehicle had impacted the front steps of the rural resident and the driver was still seated in the vehicle," police said in a release to the media.
OPP found the driver in the vehicle once they arrived on scene. After speaking, they had reason to believe the driver was impaired by drug.
Further testing was conducted at the Wellington OPP detachment, where it was also revealed the vehicle involved was reported stolen in Peel Region.
A 26-year old Mississauga woman is now facing charges for operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, two counts of operation while prohibited, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, two counts of failure to comply with probation order, and driving while under suspension.
The accused was released from custody and is expected in court on September 11, 2023.
