South Bruce Grey Health Centre announces more ER closures

The South Bruce Grey Health Centre has announced more local emergency room closures for August.

Due to insufficient staffing, the Walkerton Emergency Department will close Wednesday, August 23 at 5 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday, August 24 at 7 a.m.

The Durham Emergency Department will close on Wednesday, August 30 at 5 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday, August 31 at 7 a.m.

Finally, the Chesley Emergency Department will close Thursday, August 31 at 5 p.m. and won't reopen until Monday, September 4 at 7 a.m.

Ambulance by-pass has been undertaken to divert patients to the nearest open ED.

Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 911 to be taken to the nearest Emergency Department. For non-urgent health care needs, Health Connect Ontario is available 24/7 for non-emergency health-related questions by calling 811.
