Unsettling robbery sparks investigation in Wingham

Huron County OPP are searching for suspects after a youngster carrying newspapers was attacked in Wingham.

The incident took place on August 24 around 4 p.m. when a 13-year-old boy was attacked by three men on Victoria Street, near Helena Street.

The young victim was riding his bicycle on Victoria St. when three unidentified males emerged from a nearby trail, seizing the victim's backpack that contained a load of newspapers.

Shortly after, the assailants hurled the newspapers over a bridge and into the river.

Police say the boy managed to escape his attackers shortly after, although the suspects continued to chase him.

Authorities have provided descriptions of the suspects involved in the incident:

Suspect 1: A male individual dressed in a grey shirt and blue pants.

Suspect 2: A male individual seen wearing a red shirt and black pants.

Suspect 3: Another male individual spotted in a black shirt.

The police are urging the public to step forward with any information they might possess regarding the incident or the identities of the suspects.
